Scientists track man-eating lions in Kenya, which killed 35 people in 1898

It was 1898, when laborers from India and local natives building the Uganda Railroad across Kenya became the prey for the pair, a case that has been the subject of numerous accounts and at least three movies. Scientists hoping to figure out the actual number of people eaten decided to study the remains of the two male lions, now on display at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, testing the types of carbon and nitrogen in their teeth and hair, reports Yahoo News. |

Pashmina goat will be cloned

Scientists from Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana are working on a project to clone the pashmina goat, the success of which is expected to give boost to the dwindling trade in the sought-after fur. Sanctioned by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research, the project comprises four components and has been granted Rs 9 crore aid by the World Bank, reports DNA. |
